Gallery section. Artists
are invited to submit photos and sample instructions by emailing them to

GOALS
CRESCENDOh actualizes its mission and values by creating an online
presence where:
- Like-minded creatives gather to shine light on the best projects and ideas
from the online world. In doing so, CRESCENDOh builds an organic,
home-grown development of increased visits to CRESCENDOh, resulting
in a mutual home-grown development of increased visits to its linked sites.
- In addition to the links to projects and ideas, CRESCENDOh helps
tell unique and heartfelt ART SAVES stories from successful artists who
serve as Guest Curators throughout the year. Through these stories, an
organic and home-grown development of organizations born out of the stories
grow. Reader-submitted stories about ART SAVES are also collected and
shared, to help the CRESCENDOh community learn about the global power
of art.
- The concept ART SAVES is carried out further through exclusive ART SAVES
merchandise sold in the shop. These items are created with original
work by artists, and 100 percent of proceeds go to CRESCENDOh's charities of choice.

Jenny Doh worked as Editor-in-Chief of Somerset Studio and numerous art & crafting magazines from 2004 to 2009. Under her leadership, many new magazines were conceptualized and launched, including
Art Quilting Studio, GreenCraft, Altered Couture, apron•ology,
Sew Somerset, Somerset Apprentice, Marie, Artful Blogging,
Art Journaling, Somerset Home, Somerset Workshop, Somerset Life,
Somerset Wedding, Transparent Art, Material Visions, and more. Jenny is considered an authority within the art & craft industry. In 2009, she was recognized by Folio magazine as one of the top 40 leaders within the publishing industry

SUCCESSFUL BLOGGER
Jenny launched her blog on May 22, 2008. Her daily posts have focused on art, passion, authentic living, style, compassion, magazines, books, crafting, humor, current events, and more. Jenny’s blog has gained a loyal and rapidly growing following.
BOOK AUTHOR
Jenny’s first book that she co-authored is titled Where Women Create: Book of Inspiration (Lark Books — an imprint of Sterling Publishing, 2010). She served as principal writer and editor for this book, where she interviewed creative women to build rich narratives about their source for creativity and inspiration. Her second book on art and style will be released in 2011.

Jenny is a passionate artist and designer. Her designs involve knitting, crocheting, rubber stamping, mixed-media, altered art, sewing, and quilting. Her projects have been published in numerous publications. Through her body of work, she has established leadership within a design aesthetic that she describes as “artistic minimalism.” In 2009, Jenny was invited by Mary Jane Butters to be a guest writer for
MaryJanesFarm magazine.

Jenny is also a passionate and skilled photographer. She describes her photographs as “documentarian chic,” where she captures real life, with a twist of soulful artistry. Her photographs have been published in numerous publications.

From Seoul to Bakersfield, with the cello, to UC Irvine and UCLA, then to Social Work and El Sol, and then to Publishing, and finally to CRESCENDOh.

Jenny was born in Seoul, Korea and in 1974, immigrated with her family to the US. She learned how to knit at the age of 6 — her “gateway” craft that eventually would lead to many other creative pursuits.

She grew up in Bakersfield, where she learned to play the cello.

In 1991, she graduated from UC Irvine with a degree in Political Science. She was selected as the first UC Student Regent from UC Irvine. From 2007–2009, she served as President of the UC Irvine Alumni Association. Jenny has been named 2010 Lauds & Laurels Distinguished Alumni for UC Irvine's School of Social Sciences.

In 1995, Jenny graduated from UCLA with a Masters in Social Welfare, under the guidance of academic advisor, Dr. Duncan Lindsey. For her research work with Dr. Lindsey, Jenny received the ProHumanitate Medal from the North American Resource Center for Child Welfare — the highest honor given to academics within public child welfare for bodies of research that advance the field. For seven years, Jenny worked for Orange County Social Services as Senior Social Worker in child protective services.

After social work, Jenny devoted two years to help with development efforts for El Sol Science & Arts Academy — a public charter school in Santa Ana, serving an underprivileged student body.

In 2004, Jenny joined Stampington & Company and quickly became Editor-in-Chief and Director of Publishing. During her tenure and leadership, the company experienced tremendous growth of numerous successful newsstand titles.
- Jenny and her husband raise their two children, Monica and Andrew, in their home in Santa Ana, California.
To connect the creative passion of the individual and to build an authentic community of like-minded souls that can inspire focused compassion to make a difference in the world is Jenny’s story. It is CRESCENDOh’s mission.
